It has been handmade on a fair trade basis by a family business in Northern India that provides full time fair paid employment with sick pay and regular hours for 19 people and over 60 artisans on a piecework basis. Benefits provided by the business include fair pay, sick pay and regular hours. It also supports fee free schools for poorer families.
